Yes. The SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core all-in-one home storage system delivers up to 2,400 W of total output power. For example, if 800 W is being fed into the home grid, up to 1,600 W remain available via the integrated backup socket, without any manual switching or special mode required.

The SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core functions as a home storage system with backup power supply: the backup socket is always active when in use. If the battery is depleted, the system automatically switches to grid power, if available.

No, the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO with 2,400 W output power must always be installed by a certified electrician and registered with the grid operator as well as the market master data register (MaStR) in Germany.

Installers have several options for the grid connection: specialist retailers offer cables with an open end for a fixed connection, cables with a Wieland plug, and also high-current cables (CEE, 5-pin, 32 A) for parallel operation of multiple head units. Depending on the cable, available lengths range from 3m to 15m.

SunEnergyXT 500 (800 VA): Complies with the German VDE-AR-N 4105:2026-3 norm for simplified registration by non-professionals with the grid operator. Requirement: connection via an energy socket (e.g. a Wieland socket). A standard earthed (Schuko) plug alone is not compliant. If no energy socket is installed yet, installation by a certified electrician is required.

SunEnergyXT 500 PRO and 500 PRO AC Core (2,400 W): Installation by a certified electrician is required. From a charging capacity of 4.2 kW (e.g. 2× PRO head units), §14a EnWG also applies, allowing for grid operator control.

A smart meter gateway (iMSys) is only mandatory for larger system expansions. Registration with the market master data register (MaStR) and the grid operator is required in any case.

Yes. The 500 PRO AC Core is equipped on the hardware side with 4x 625 W MPPT solar charge controllers.

These can be easily activated later via a paid upgrade, allowing you to connect up to 8 solar modules directly to each 500 PRO AC Core.

The entire 500 series offers a local API (via HTTP) as well as full Home Assistant integration for maximum flexibility. In addition, the following energy meters are natively supported: Shelly (Pro) 3EM and EM-50, EcoTracker IR and P1, and bitShake.

Thanks to the open API, integration into existing smart home environments is easily done.

The SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core is designed for outdoor use: protection class IP65 (dust-tight and water jet resistant), operating temperature from −20°C to +55°C, integrated battery heating (automatic heating below 0°C), and a built-in fire suppression cartridge for added safety. Above 45°C, output power is automatically reduced to protect the LFP cells.

Recommendation: install beneath a carport, canopy, or balcony roof to maximize product lifetime.

Yes, on the software side: From launch, the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core can be operated together with BK215/BK215 Plus products via a multi-zone strategy (cloud-based) or locally through Home Assistant. For this, the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core is added in its own "space." One energy meter (e.g. Shelly) is sufficient for both systems.

Not directly connectable physically: A direct cable connection between the SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC Core and the BK215 is not possible. Joint control can be done exclusively via software.

The backup socket for emergency power and UPS mode (switching time under 10 ms) always work, even without an internet connection. Off-grid operation with up to 2,400 W output power per head unit is likewise independent of the internet.

A cloud connection is required for full control via the SunEnergyXT app. Alternatively, local control can be used via the API or Home Assistant.

An internet connection is recommended for the initial setup. The storage system also needs an internet connection for regular firmware updates. A manual update option, e.g. via an external medium, is currently still being evaluated.

The SunEnergyXT 500 series uses high-quality 314Ah EVE LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cells and is rated for at least 10,000 charge cycles. At one cycle per day, this corresponds to a lifespan of more than 27 years.
