SunEnergyXT put to the test: balcony power plant storage with charging station for electric cars

With the BK215, SunEnergyXT (formerly SunLit Solar) offers a balcony power plant storage unit with 2.15 kWh, which can be expanded to up to 8.6 kWh with additional modules. With the optionally available bidirectional inverter EV3600, the storage solution can also be used to charge electric vehicles. Together with the SunEnergyXT storage unit BK215 combined with three expansion units, the solution offers a charging power of 3.6 kW as well as two emergency power sockets. If the EV3600 is connected to the power grid, it even reaches 11 kW. The system also supports island/off-grid operation, ideal for use in a carport.

The Handelsblatt editorial team tested our BK215 PLUS with two B215 PLUS expansion units and the EV3600. In a detailed test report, they describe the installation, app setup, everyday use, and especially the AC charging and emergency power functions. Their final verdict:

THIS IS INCREDIBLY COST-EFFECTIVE. EXCELLENT.

I live in a solar house equipped with solar thermal, solar panels, but also a solid biomass boiler, oil heating, and a 6kW immersion heater. The PV system with storage batteries and EV3600 comes from SunEnergyXT. All in all, I was able to reduce my power consumption from almost 2,000 kWh to under 850 kWh. With the dynamic energy tariff, I cover my consumption of around 850 kWh at an average electricity rate of below €0.25.

MORE STORAGE WOULD BE AWESOME

I've had a full Gen1 tower since December. At peak, I get about 3.8 to 4.5 kW from the roof. I'm super happy with it, but around 3 PM, I start clipping the panels because the battery is fully charged and my consumption is too low, despite having a heating rod. I'd love to add 2 or 3 more 500 PRO heads in the future. Might add an electric car at some point, too.

Ladeleistung regelbar per SunEnergyXT App

Automatische Begrenzungsfunktion bei zu niedriger Spannung.

Wenn nur ein BK215-Speicher vorhanden ist, beträgt die maximale Ladeleistung 1 kW. Bei einem BK215-Speicher und einem oder mehreren B215-Erweiterungsspeichern kann die maximale Ladeleistung 2,4 kW erreichen.

10,8 kW Ladeleistung bei Anschluss an eine dreiphasige Stromversorgung.

Wenn nur ein BK215-Speicher ohne Mikrowechselrichter vorhanden ist oder der Mikrowechselrichter keine Ausgangsleistung hat, beträgt die maximale Ausgangsleistung des EV3600 (für jeden AC Output einzeln sowie auch für beide AC Outputs gemeinsam) 1,26 kW. Wenn ein BK215-Speicher mit einem B215-Erweiterungsspeicher vorhanden ist, beträgt die maximale Ausgangsleistung 2,51 kW. Wenn ein BK215-Speicher mit zwei oder mehreren B215-Erweiterungsspeichern vorhanden ist, beträgt die maximale Ausgangsleistung 3,35 kW.

Der Wallbox-AC-Ausgang und somit der Autolade-Modus kann nur in Kombination mit einem BK215-Speicher und mindestens zwei B215-Erweiterungsspeichern verwendet werden.
